Finding The Right Cock Ring For You!

It’s not as easy as it sounds. Cock rings come in a variety of colours, sizes and materials and most people find they have a preference for a certain kind only after actually trying one out. But we are skipping ahead here.

What is a cock ring?

A cock ring is a device that helps men enjoy harder erections. They are often ring shaped and come in a variety of materials, from soft silicone through to hard metal with a variety in-between. They can be elaborate and have ball stretchers, anal locks or vibrators attached, or be very simple and uncomplicated. They are often worn by putting the penis and balls through the ring and wearing it snugly around the base, however some people will only wear them on the cock base itself.

Why do people use cock rings?

There are a variety of reasons men use cock rings. Many people use them to keep their cock harder throughout sexual sessions. However people also use cock rings because they like the feel of them against their skin or balls, using them as a sex toy. Others use them to delay ejection or make their orgasm more intense, or some wear them just because they like the look of them.

How do cock rings work?

A cock ring works by letting blood flow into the penis, but slows down blood flowing out of the penis through the erect penile tissue.

So what kind of cock ring is right for me?

Firstly try and figure out what the reason is for buying a cock ring. Do you want harder erections? Like the look of metal cock rings? Like to feel restrained around the balls and cock?

Silicone cock rings

For beginners I usually recommend a silicone cock ring. These are in my experience easier to get on and off and sizing is generally not an issue. They come in a variety of colours and shapes and range in elasticity. Most will eventually snap however - although the better quality will last for a long time. Here at Spunk'D we love the Perfect Fit Cruiser rings, as well as the Oxballs variety.

Metal, wood and rubber cock rings.

Some people however enjoy the rigidity of metal, wood or even rubber. These often provide a tighter fit and result in a roaring hard on that won’t quit. Metal can be tricky to get on and off but for some people it’s exactly what they are looking for. The best way to find what size metal cock ring you require is to use a piece of string to wrap around your cock and scrotum base. Mark where it crosses over and then measure the length. Most metal cock rings range from 35mm to 55mm in diameter. This also applies to other hard material cock rings like wood. Firm rubber cock rings can also be very unyielding but less unforgiving than Metal or Wood.

The thing you want to avoid is a too tight unyielding cock ring - no one wants to go to emergency to get their ring removed if it’s too tight. Spunk'D has a great range of Lucrezia and DeSade Metal rings as well as some heavy and thick ones of our own brand.

Leather cock rings

Leather cock rings are traditional and have a strong fetish appeal for some people. You can get simple leather bands with press studs, or more elaborate ones that stretch the scrotum, pull the cock up or separate the testicles. Because leather is soft it’s a good option although some people can find leather can pinch when tight, and most leather uses press studs which can also pinch the skin or pull pubic hair if not put on right. They do a great job however and are quite versatile. We stock a great range of Lucrezia and DeSade Leather cock rings and the Colt series leather cock rings.
